United We Stand #Survivors
As night unfolds her blanket, I look around me
Once I feared this time, feared the solitude
Never belonging, never fitting in,
Now as she casts her shadow, I embrace the moment
For when the sun warms my skin again
I will know something I never knew before
I am not alone, I need not fear the nights
I need not fear sleep and the nightmares he brings
I am not alone, I stand tall and proud
Part of an ever growing army, united and strong.
We are the survivors, We are the best of friends
We unite with a force, we unite as one
No matter where, no matter how far
We stand together, survivors till the end.
We have been treated with contempt and with perverted lust by
The abusers, the tormentors, the rapists and the torturers
We did nothing wrong, we did not ask for or deserve
The Pain, the torment and the soul destroying shame.
The shame is theirs, we were the innocents, the young
They were the dirty, the disgusting evil scum.
They stole away our childhoods, tried to destroy our lives.
They were mothers, fathers, grandparents, brothers, sisters
Cousins, aunties, uncles, friends and acquaintances.
We were the innocents, they almost destroyed.
We are the survivors, We are the best of friends,
We throw back the abuse, the rape and the pain,
We disown you, condemn you, despise and don't know you
We have our new family, our friends, and new lives.
Listen, be frightened, we're coming to get you,
You're going to hell, we're pushing the button.
As survivors we stand, tall and unfrightened,
You"ll rot in darkness, whilst our light shines strong.

Can I share this please? It's so moving.
Please do. We are united are we not?
Thank you so much. I'm just starting to blog about what I went through at the gentle nudge (maybe that should be read as shove!) of my therapist, and it's not easy.
Beautifully written :) I shall share this on my author page and Twitter :)
