Tears Of The Dragon

Tears Of The Dragon

For too long now
There were secrets in my mind
For too long now
There were things I should have said
In the darkness
I was stumbling for the door
To find a reason
To find the time, the place, the hour

Waiting for the winter sun
And the cold light of day
The misty chost of childhood fears
The preessure is building
And I can't stay away

I throw myself into the sea
Release the wave
Let it wash over me
To face the fear
I once believed
The tears for the dragon
For you and for me

Where I was
I had wings that couldn't fly
Where I was
I had tears I couldn't cry
My emotions
Frozen in an icy lake
I couldn't feel them
Until the ice becan to break

I have no prayer over this
You know I'm afraid
The walls I built are crumblig
The water is moving
I'm slipping away

I throw myself into the sea
Release the wave
Let it wash over me
To face the fear
I once believed
The tears for the dragon
For you and for me

Slowly I awake
Slowly I rise
The walls I built are crumblig
The water is moving
I'm slipping away

I throw myself into the sea
Release the wave
Let it wash over me
To face the fear
I once believed
The tears for the dragon
For you and for me

The Glory Of Love

"This is a song I've been singing for a long time.
It's like an old friend.
But, you know, I think it,
it's only recently that I discovered what it's really about."

You've got to give a little, take a little,
and let your poor heart break a little.
That's the story of, that's the glory of love.

You've got to laugh a little, cry a little,
until the clouds roll by a little.
That's the story of, that's the glory of love.

As long as there's the two of us,
we've got the world and all it's charms.
And when the world is through with us,
we've got each other's arms.

You've got to win a little, lose a little,
yes, and always have the blues a little.
That's the story of, that's the glory of love.
That's the story of, that's the glory of love.

Christmas Without You #Christmas #Love

Christmas without you
White Christmas and I'm blue
Like fireworks with no fuse
Christmas without you
The fireplace keeps burning and my thoughts keep turning
The pages of memories of time spent with you
Old Christmas songs we knew and used to make love to
Make it hard to get used to
Christmas without you

Christmas without you
White Christmas and I'm blue
I love you I miss you
So sad but so true
Christmas without you
Like a mystery with no clues
Like fireworks with no fuse
Christmas without you

The sweetest gift I know would be if the new snow
Could fall on your footsteps on this Christmas Eve
The most joyous Christmas if luck could be with us
Would be if Saint Nicholas brought you home to me

Christmas without you
White Christmas and I'm blue
I love you I miss you I need you
So sad but so true
Like a mystery with no clues
Like fireworks with no fuse
Christmas without you

Ysbryd Y Nos / Spirit Of The Night #Halloween

Ysbryd Y Nos

Pan ddaw lleisiau'r nos i 'mhoeni,
A siffrwd gwag y gwynt i'm hoeri,
Ti sy'n lliwio'r blode
A mantell gwlith y bore:
Tyrd, Ysbryd y Nos.

Ysbryd y Nos, tyrd yma'n awr,
Gwasgara'r ofnau cyn daw'r wawr;
Diffodd y t'wyllwch, tyrd a'r dydd:
Gad im ddod o'r nos yn rhydd.

Pleth dy wallt mewn rhuban euraidd
Yn gynnes yn dy olau peraidd,
A bysedd brau y barrug
Yn deffro hun y cerrig:

Ysbryd y Nos, tyrd yma'n awr,
Gwasgara'r ofnau cyn daw'r wawr;
Diffodd y t'wyllwch, tyrd a'r dydd:
Gad im ddod o'r nos yn rhydd.

Ysbryd y Nos, rho d'olau mwyn,
Ysbryd y Nos, rho im dy swyn,
Ysbryd y Nos, fel angel y dydd,
Ysbryd y Nos, enaid y pridd.

Ac yno yn y dyffryn tawel
Mi glywaf gan yn swn yr awel
A neges hud y geirie
Yn hedfan dros y brynie:
Tyrd, ysbryd y Nos.
Ysbryd y Nos, tyrd yma'n awr,
Gwasgara'r ofnau cyn daw'r wawr;
Diffodd y t'wyllwch, tyrd a'r dydd:
Gad im ddod o'r nos yn rhydd.

English Translation

Spirit of the Night

When the night's voices come to taunt me,
and the empty whipsers of the wind to chill me,
with dew you paint the flowers
throughout the early hours;
come, Spirit of the Night.

And when the waves haul the silver shells
to rustle in their silk uniform,
I know you will be there
ready to comfort me;
come, Spirit of the Night.

Spirit of the Night, come to me,
banish my fears before the dawn;
dismiss the darkness, bring on day,
free me from the night, I say.

Braid your hair with golden ribbons
tenderly in your sweet light,
while winter's icy fingers
spread frost upon the windows;
come, Spirit of the Night.

Spirit of the Night, give your gentle glow,
Spirit of the Night, enchant me now,
Spirit of the Night, like an angel of light,
soul of the earth, Spirit of the Night.

And here in this peaceful valley
a breeze-borne song rings out so sweetly
and the magic in its meaning
brings comfort to my dreaming
come, Spirit of the Night.

Spirit of the Night, come to me,
banish my fears before the dawn;
dismiss the darkness, bring on day,
let me come, let me come free.

The Eleventh Commandment

She hears his heavy breathing in the dark
His footsteps coming closer down the hall
She's so ashamed, she's daddy's secret love
She wants to cry, she wants to die, but he can't get enough
The bruises on his face will go away
Mom keeps him home from school till they fade
She's sorry he was born and tells him so
He takes it in, he hangs his chin, he ducks another blow

Did God overlook it
What ought have been written
The eleventh commandment
Honor thy children

He cries for hours, cries and never stops
He shakes so hard his little cradle rocks
He'll never have the chance to be brand new
He'll never walk, he'll never talk, he's addicted too

Did God overlook it
What ought have been written
The eleventh commandment
Honor thy children

Thou shalt not kill
Thou shalt not steal
Thou shalt not take the Lord's name in vain
Thou shalt not cause thy children pain

God does not overlook it
What ought have been written
The eleventh commandment
Honor thy children
Honor thy children

Search for the Hero

Sometimes the river flows but nothing breathes.
A train arrives but never leaves.
It's a shame.
Oh life like love that walks out of the door.
Of being rich or being poor.
Such a shame.
But it's then, then that faith arrives.
To make you feel at least alive.
And that's why you should keep on aiming high.
Just seek yourself and you will shine

You've got to search for the hero inside yourself.
Search for the secrets you hide.
Search for the hero inside yourself.
Until you find the key to your life.
In this life long and hard though it may seem
Live it as you'd live a dream.

Aim so high.
Just keep the flame of truth burning bright.
The missing treasure you must find.
Because you and only you alone.
Can build a bridge across the stream.
Weave your spell in life's rich tapestry.
Your passport to a feel supreme.

You've got to search for the hero inside yourself.
Search for the secrets you hide.
Search for the hero inside yourself.
Until you find the key to your life.
In this life long and hard though it may seem
Live it as you'd live a dream.

Boy To Man

Boy To Man

Little boy plays happily,in the fields with friends

long drawn out dreamy days

anxiety an unknown enemy

tired boy on a long journey, friends a long way away,

functioning only as memories

in a new Antipodean reality

clever boy alone, sadly contemplating an accent,

hating a colour, choking

constructing the iron boundary

chunky kid, supposedly smart, successful in the elder’s eyes,

smarts from colouful taunts...

keen brain but heavy heart

young man on the outer, alone in a bookish haven

returning on a northern route,

inner struggle getting harder

shy young man, boyish in looks, piece of pretty paper proclaims

intelligence, commodity unseen

unwanted, slave to musty books

little boy, old young man uncertain, angst filled trek,

nowhere greeting him fast

tries to feel while he can

carefully constructed armour hiding the softness inside

under sheets of uncertainty,

greyness hiding vivid colour.

Donna Summer R.I.P

US singer Donna Summer, famous for disco hits including I Feel Love and Love To Love You Baby, has died at the age of 63.

Summer was one of disco's biggest stars and won five Grammy Awards.

Her family said they were "at peace celebrating her extraordinary life and her continued legacy".

Summer's collaborations with producer Giorgio Moroder helped define the genre, as well as having a huge influence on synth pop and dance music.

Stars including Madonna, Kylie Minogue and David Bowie were among the acts who acknowledged her influence.

Summer had been living in Florida with her husband Bruce Sudano.

A statement from her family said: "Early this morning, we lost Donna Summer Sudano, a woman of many gifts, the greatest being her faith.

"While we grieve her passing, we are at peace celebrating her extraordinary life and her continued legacy. Words truly can't express how much we appreciate your prayers and love for our family at this sensitive time."

Born LaDonna Andre Gaines, Summer grew up in Boston and started singing in her church's gospel choir.

She began her professional career on the stage and joined the cast of a German production of the musical Hair in the late 1960s, prompting her to move to the country.

Her first solo record came out in 1971 but it was her work with the Italian synthesiser pioneer Moroder that led to her breakthrough with Love to Love You Baby in 1975 - the first of 29 UK top 40 singles.

Pain

Of being alone in a crowd,
Of eating food,
Of body twitches,
Of nightmares and day dreams,
Of not belonging,
Of being touched,
Of remembering,
Of pain I too caused,
Of vomiting,
Of emasculation,
Of just being.

The Living Tree

I've always liked Dame Shirley Bassey. This song is one of my favourites and I can really relate to it at the moment.

I hope you enjoy it.

Let me breathe
Cause I'm drowning in your shadow
Let me leave
Respect me do not follow me believe
I can make me own tomorrow
Let me breathe
Does it make
You feel good cause you own me
Does it take
Your puppet strings to hold me
How I ache
As you're trying to control me
Let me breathe

Let me dance 'till my shoes cry
Let me laugh let me be
Let me dance
Let me choose my life
Let me climb the living tree

Picture this
When you wake up in the morning
And I kiss
Your sorry ass goodbye
What will I miss
There's nothing I can think of as I leave

Let me dance 'till my shoes cry
Let me laugh let me be
Let me dance
Let me choose my life
Let me climb the living tree

I Will Always Love You

"I Will Always Love You" is a song by American singer-songwriter Dolly Parton. The country track was released on June 6 1974 as the second single from Parton's thirteenth solo studio album, Jolene (1974). Recorded on June 13, 1973, the singer wrote the song for her one-time partner and mentor Porter Wagoner, with whom she was having a business splitting at the time. "I Will Always Love You" received positive comments from critics and attained commercial success, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart two times. With the accomplishment, Parton became the first artist ever to earn a number one record twice with the same song as a singer, and three times as a writer.

In 1992, singer Whitney Houston recorded the song for the soundtrack to The Bodyguard, her film debut. Houston was originally to record Jimmy Ruffin's "What Becomes of the Brokenhearted" as the lead single from The Bodyguard. However, when it was discovered the song was to be used for Fried Green Tomatoes, Houston requested a different song and her co-star Kevin Costner brought her Linda Ronstadt's 1975 version of "I Will Always Love You" from her album Prisoner in Disguise. Houston and producer David Foster re-arranged the song as a soul ballad. Her record company did not feel a song with an a cappella introduction would be as successful; however, Houston and Costner insisted on retaining the a cappella intro. The tenor saxophone solo was played by Kirk Whalum. Whitney Houston's recording is not the only version of the song featured in the movie. In a scene where she dances with Kevin Costner, a version by John Doe can be heard playing on a jukebox.

Houston's version was a massive worldwide success, appearing at number 68 on Billboard's "Greatest Songs of All Time."

If I should stay
Well, I would only be in your way
And so I'll go, and yet I know
That I'll think of you each step of my way
And I will always love you
I will always love you
Bitter-sweet memories
That's all I have, and all Im taking with me
Good-bye, oh, please don't cry
Cause we both know that Im not
What you need
I will always love you
I will always love you
And I hope life, will treat you kind
And I hope that you have all
That you ever dreamed of
Oh, I do wish you joy
And I wish you happiness
But above all this
I wish you love
I love you, I will always love

I, I will always, always love you
I will always love you
I will always love you
I will always love you

Wild Horses

Childhood living is easy to do
The things you wanted I bought them for you
Graceless lady, you know who I am,
You know I can't let you slide through my hands

Wild Horses,
Couldn't drag me away,
Wild, wild horses,
Couldn't drag me away...

I watched you suffer a dull, aching pain
Now you decided to show me the same
No sweeping exits or offstage lines,
Can make me feel bitter or treat you unkind

Wild Horses,
Couldn't drag me away,Wild, wild horses,
Couldn't drag me away...

I know I dreamed you a sin and a lie,
I have my freedom but I don't have much time
Faith has been broken tears must be cried,
Let's do some living after we die

Wild Horses,
Couldn't drag me away,
Wild, wild horses,
We'll ride them someday

Wild Horses,
Couldn't drag me away,
Wild, wild horses,
We'll ride them someday

More - Theme from Monda Cane

An old song, but a longtime favourite of mine.

More than the greatest love the world has known,
This is the love I give to you alone,
More than the simple words I try to say,
I only live to love you more each day.
More than you'll ever know, my arms long to hold you so,
My life will be in your keeping, waking, sleeping, laughing, weeping,
Longer than always is a long long time, but far beyond forever you're gonna be mine.
I know I've never lived before and my heart is very sure,
No one else could love you more.

More than you'll ever know , my arms they long to hold you so,
My life will be in your keeping, waking, sleeping, laughing, weeping,
Longer than always is a long long time, but far beyond forever you'll be mine,
I know that I've never lived before and my heart is very sure,
No one else could love you more, no one else could love you more.
