We'd just returned from holiday. Our plane landed within minutes of the first aircraft hitting the building. In the taxi home the driver said that someone had flown a plane into the towers and it was stuck between them (a light aircraft). Little did we know.
ReplyDeleteWe only found out the severity when we got home.
Having stood on one of those magnificent buildings 2 years previous, we were stunned. My wife was picking up her brand new car that day. She should have been excited and happy. It was a very sad day for us both.
Peace, love and respect to a truly fantastic city!
I've done a tribute to NY on my blog if you fancied stopping by.
Best,
David.
A very appropriate tribute.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this video. I was laying on my living room couch recovering from gall bladder surgery a few days before. I had the TV on out of boredom when a Special Report broke in with the news that the first tower had been hit. About 30 minutes later my husband called to see if I knew what was happening. This tragedy taught the world compassion.
ReplyDeleteI remember it as if it was yesterday, I was at work as we heard the news come in.
